Today, Greylock investment partner Reid Hoffman launched an original podcast series called Masters of Scale in partnership with WaitWhat, a new content incubator founded by former TED executives. The podcast is designed to be different from any other business podcast out there. Each episode begins with an unexpected story, setting the stage for Reid to reveal a theory about how organizations scale successfully. The show then unfolds like a detective story as he tests the idea with a number of today’s iconic entrepreneurs.

Throughout the series, Masters of Scale features guests including Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and Sheryl Sandberg, Netflix’s Reed Hastings, Minted’s Mariam Naficy, Alphabet’s Eric Schmidt and more. The podcast is the first American media program to commit to a 50–50 gender balance for guests. Each episode combines storytelling, humor, and original music to illuminate larger scaling concepts as well as simple hacks that can change everything for a company. Here are some favorite images from the recording sessions:

To read more about Reid’s motivation for sharing lessons in blitzscaling and how the idea for the podcast evolved, check out his interview in Entrepreneur Magazine. Reid also shares his thoughts on the podcast in a post here. The first episode of Masters of Scale features Airbnb Co-Founder and CEO Brian Chesky and is available now.

New episodes are released weekly. I hope you enjoy the series!

The Masters of Scale podcast expands on the 2015 Stanford class Reid taught with John Lilly from Greylock Partners, LinkedIn co-founder Allen Blue, and Reid’s co-author Chris Yeh about extremely rapid scaling — a practice, for which they coined the term “blitzscaling.” (You can view the classes online at the Greylock Partners YouTube channel, or listen to them on our Greylock podcast.)
